Afton L. Rose Springer Anderson 1919 ~ 2007 SOUTH JORDAN - Afton LaFaye Rose Springer Anderson died peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, February 21, 2007 in Sandy, Utah. She was born November 15, 1919 to Gail Elliot and Ada Bernice Baker Rose in Ogden, Utah. She graduated from Ogden High School and attended Weber College. Afton married Donald L. Springer on June 27, 1938 in Ogden. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Together they raised five children. Don died August 20, 1969. She married Moyle E. Anderson on August 28, 1970 in North Ogden. Moyle died February 2, 2002. She was employed by First Security Bank as a teller at their main office in Ogden then served as the Branch Manager at Utah General Depot where she made many friends. Afton lived a life of service to others. While in Ogden she was a member of and served as President of the Ogden Altrusa Club. Following her retirement from the bank in 1977, she and Moyle moved to Joshua Tree, California. While there she spent many hours as a volunteer at the High Desert Medical Center. Afton was always an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in any calling asked of her and was an avid temple attendee. She is survived by four daughters, Laurie (Bob) Christensen, Syracuse; Kay (Dennis) Thurgood, Kaysville; Marilyn (Jon) Barton, Spanish Fork; Charlene (Ken) Wardle, South Jordan; and one son Max (Diane) Springer, South Weber; one stepson Roger (Carol) Anderson, Calgary, Alberta Canada; 18 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two half sisters, Sheri Christofferson and Penny (Richard) Clark, both of Salt Lake City; and one half brother Craig (Diane) Christofferson, Ogden. She was preceded in death by her husbands, her parents, one brother, one grandson and one granddaughter-in-law. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd. Family and friends may call at the mortuary on Sat. from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery, North Ogden, Utah. The family would like to express their thanks to the staff of Sandy Regional Health Center and to the doctors and nurses of Superior Care Hospice for the devoted care given to their mother. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Hospice of your choice.
