James V. Murphy J. V. 1923 ~ 2007 J.V. returned to his Heavenly Father Feb. 18, 2007. He died at his home among loved ones from pulmonary fibrosis; cause unknown after great suffering the last few years. He was raised in Slick, OK. He lived a fulfilling life as a husband, father and grandfather and a dedicated member in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed a variety of interests including gardening and golf. He provided well for his family through the years in his career as a bindery foreman. He served in the army division as corporal during World War II in Europe. He had four children, 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He dearly loved his wonderful wife, Alda, of 60 years, they had been sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She took excellent around the clock care of him as his health declined. He lived in San Jose, California for two decades and in Bountiful, Utah for four decades. He is survived by his wife, Alda Hinton Murphy; children, Margaret (Bruce) Messick, Maureen (Todd) Huffaker, Michael (Carolanne) Murphy, all of Centerville, UT and Shannon (Brent) Jensen of Gunnison, Utah; sister, Geneva Woodard., Albuquerque, N.M. and brother, Howard Murphy of Tulsa, OK. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 24, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at the Bountiful 14th Ward Chapel, 600 East 1500 South. Friends and family may call Friday evening from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at the church prior to services.
