HENDERSON, Nev. — Joey Petersen, high priests group leader of the Oasis Park Ward, Henderson Nevada Stake, set a National Aeronautic Record recently by landing and taking off in all 13 western states (California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington). The record was accomplished in November in 18 hours, 31 minutes and one second.

The event was sanctioned by the National Aeronautic Association, the official record keeper for United States Aviation. Flying along as official observer was Rick Bourne, also a member of the Oasis Park Ward. The award for the new record will be presented in April in Washington, D.C.
