Intermountain Healthcare has again been ranked as one of the nation's top integrated health systems, receiving the second-highest score in an annual study of health-care organizations.

The ranking was announced in the Monday issue of Modern Healthcare magazine. The study was conducted by Verispan, a Pennsylvania-based health information company, and examined nearly 600 health systems around the nation. The annual list, now in its 10th year, rates local and regional health-care systems on factors such as clinical quality, operations, efficiency and breadth of services.

Intermountain has ranked first in five of the last eight years, most recently in 2005, and second three times. The top 100 networks are online at www.verispan.com.

Intermountain Healthcare is a community-owned system of nonprofit hospitals and clinics that provides medical care to residents of Utah and Idaho.
