Kudos to Don Gale for his column "Time for us to stop saving daylight" (March 3). When Sen. John Valentine was our representative in the state Legislature several years ago, I encouraged him to take steps to get rid of daylight-saving time. Nothing came of my efforts. In Mr. Gale's third paragraph, he laments, "Too bad Congress didn't do the right thing by admitting daylight-saving time is foolish. No, it's stupid."
From numerous conversations on the subject, I find two out of three favor leaving the clocks alone. It's a gross misnomer to call it daylight-saving time. It's costly in many ways and needs to be abolished.
