George Christian Stucki 1942 ~ 2007 CASTLE DALE/ ST. GEORGE, UT- George Christian Stucki, 64, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2007 in St. George, Utah after a valiant battle with brain cancer. He was born December 30, 1942 to Merrill and Maggie Brooks Stucki in St. George, Utah. On June 20, 1969 he married Christine Facer in the St. George LDS Temple. They raised five sons and one daughter. Following their divorce in 2000, he married Cleo Dinu of Romania on April 14, 2006 in Romania. George grew up in St. George, attended public schools and graduated from Dixie High School. He was in the Utah National Guard and served honorably. He served an LDS mission in Scotland, and returned to graduate from Dixie College. George graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelors Degree in Physical Education and Recreation Management. He also earned a Master's Degree in Education. George loved sports all of his life. He played on many youth leagues at Dixie High and Dixie College. He was a great catcher in baseball. He loved coaching and coached all of his children in a variety of sports. He taught school in Oakridge, Oregon, Bancroft, Idaho, and Castle Dale, Utah. After teaching for 30 years for the Emery County School District he retired in 2002. George loved providing educational opportunities for the youth of Emery County. He was the Director for the Miss Emery County Pageant for more than 18 years. He was the Emery County Democratic Chairman for six years and loved the political arena. While he served as Castle Dale City Councilman for 10 years he started the Christmas decorations for the city. George loved the Southeastern Utah Stock Show and was a 4-H leader for many years providing sheep for the youth to raise and show at the stock show. George owned and operated Complete Carpet Care for 28 years serving Carbon and Emery Counties. He was an active member in the LDS church and held many positions of leadership. George had a strong testimony of the gospel. George is survived by his wife Cleo Stucki; children, Rjay George Stucki of Cedar City, UT; Daniel Brooks (Becci) Stucki of Pleasant Grove, UT; Rory Facer Stucki of Salt Lake City, UT; Alonzo Bert of Pinon, AZ; Summer Lynn Stucki of Atlanta, GA; and Matthew Morris (Ashley) Stucki of Castle Dale, UT. He is also survived by his mother, Maggie Stucki of St. George, UT; and siblings, David (Karren) Stucki of St. George, UT; Jeannette (Tom) Anderegg of Las Vegas, NV; Mary (Jerry) Tousa, of St. George, UT; granddaughters, Kashawna and Asa Paige Bert and many loving nieces and nephews. There will be a viewing Sunday, March 25, 2007 from 6 to 8:00 p.m. at Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S. Bluff Street, St. George, UT. A viewing will be Mon., March 26, 2007 from 7 to 9:00 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary, 710 N. Center St., Castle Dale, UT. Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 27, 2007, 11:00 a.m. at the Castle Dale LDS Stake Center with a viewing from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services.
