Obituary: Jerrilyn McLelland Reed

Jerrilyn McLelland Reed 1947 ~ 2007 Jerrilyn McLelland Reed passed away on March 20, 2007 due to heart failure. Jerrilyn was born on October 19, 1947 to Kent and Doris McLelland. She was the oldest of three children, brothers Thomas and Douglas McLelland. Jerrilyn married the love of her life, Howard Nelson Reed, on Jan. 15, 1971, who remains her loving and eternal companion. Together they raised five wonderful boys, James (Jennifer), Kent (Merrilee), Franklin, Marshall, and Mark (Tanna). The end of her life was filled with the joy and fulfillment she gained by being a doting grandmother to her four grandchildren, Brianna, Madelyn, McKenzie, and Joshua. Jerrilyn graduated from the University of Utah with her bachelor's degree in "Special Education with minor disabilities", her focus was geared toward working with children with special needs. She loved children and served in many callings in her church teaching and guiding children. She was a Den Leader and she obtained a District Award of Merit" for district 14 in Scouting. Our hearts are broken by her loss and we will miss her very much. She is preceded in death by her parents, and close cousin Jan Scherzinger. There will be a viewing on March 25, 2007 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, SLC UT 84111. Funeral Services will be held on March 26, 2007 at Wilford Second Ward, 3179 Highland Dr., Salt Lake City, UT 84106. There will be a viewing from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. and the service will start at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Veterans Memorial Park located at 17800 Camp Williams Road, Riverton UT. www.larkinmortuary.com
