PROVO — Eni F.H. Faleomavaega, American Samoa representative to the U.S. Congress, will speak at 2 p.m. Friday at Brigham Young University.
Faleomavaega's address, which will be in Room 238 of the Herald R. Clark Building, will focus on security issues in the Asian Pacific.
Faleomavaega graduated from BYU in 1966 with a political science degree. He also earned a law degree from the University of Houston and a doctoral degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
Faleomavaega was recently elected chairman of the Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Asia, the Pacific and the Global Environment. In this capacity, he will be directly involved with U.S. foreign policy in more than 30 countries, including Australia, Brunei, Mongolia, Taiwan and Uzbekistan.
