Elinor B. Evans "Together Again" Our dear mother was called home in the wee morning hours of April 8, 2007. Though saddened by her passing, we are grateful that her many days of suffering are over. During these past few years she has truly been an example of enduring to the end. Elinor was born to William W. and Edith Burt in Cardston, Alberta, Canada on October 26, 1919. She graduated from Normal School in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and taught school in the Hillspring, Canada area. She met and married the love of her life, David J. Evans, July 10, 1946 in the Cardston, Alberta, Canada Temple. He preceded her in death April 19, 1999. Elinor and Dave made their home in Shiprock, New Mexico and later moved to Farmington, NM where they raised six children. She loved teaching and taught Kindergarten while raising a family. As her children grew older, Elinor went back to college to renew her teaching certificate and graduated from Ft. Lewis College in Durango, CO summa cum laude. She taught elementary school in the Farmington, NM School District for 16 years. Family was most important to Elinor and she was a wonderful example of Christ-like love to everyone who knew her. She was an excellent cook and seamstress and had a great love of music. She was a faithful member of the LDS Church and served in various callings in the Primary and Relief Society organizations.
