The VA Salt Lake City Health Care System has received a three-year accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).
"CARF is the community standard for rehabilitation care and ensures that accepted standards of health-care operation are met," said Toni Roberts, chief of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Salt Lake facility. "The quality of care for our veterans must be demonstratively equal to, or better than, what is available in the community."
This is the third consecutive three-year positive accreditation awarded to the Salt Lake VA system. It treated 39,781 veterans last year, with a total of 400,500 outpatient visits and nearly 5,500 hospitalizations.
