Utah National Guard Brig. Gen. Bruce Frandsen has been appointed deputy commanding general for the U.S. Army Maneuver Support Center at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri.
Frandsen, of American Fork, will oversee the training and equipping of over 40,000 soldiers nationwide during his three-year assignment. He will also help develop a new "combat support brigade structure," and that may mean a new brigade could be formed in Utah by 2010.
Frandsen will retain his current duties as assistant adjutant general for the Utah guard while assuming the new job as an extra duty.
