Five-year-old Maliyah Herrin was "feeling better and still progressing" Thursday, nine days after receiving a kidney transplant, said Primary Children's Medical Center spokeswoman Bonnie Midget.
Maliyah, born joined at the abdomen with twin Kendra, received the kidney from mother Erin on April 3. The twins, separated surgically last August, had shared several organs, including Kendra's kidney.
There are no projections yet about when Maliyah will be released from the hospital, Midget said.
