The Salt Lake Art Center has received a $5,000 grant from the Staples Foundation for Learning. The grant will be used to help fund three art programs that assist children from low-income families, at-risk teens and children from home shelters: KidsmART, ArtWORKS and ARTbytes.
The Southern Utah University Department of Art and Design will feature printmaker Brent Haddock in this week's Art Insights presentation. The event will be Thursday evening at 7 in the J.L. Sorenson Physical Education Building, Room 101. Haddock will present "Making and Selling Nontoxic Prints in Utah." The event is free and open to the public.
The Center for Interdisciplinary Arts and Technology will present "Meta: Media Experiments in Technology and the Arts" this Thursday and Friday evening at 7. The two-evening event includes installations, visual art and performances by faculty and students in the New Media Wing of the Art and Architecture Building (formerly the Museum of Fine Arts). General admission is $5; faculty and students get in free with ID.
