LaVell Orlo Shiner 1922 ~ 2007 Orlo LaVell Shiner passed away peacefully April 11, 2007 in Bountiful, Utah. He was born October 12, 1922 in Fremont, Utah to David Elmore and Marie Pierce Shiner. He has one surviving oldest brother, Raldo P. Shiner; and he was preceded in death by two other brothers, Vern and Lem Shiner; and one sister, Fern Shiner. He attended Carbon High School in Price, Utah and Brigham Young University. He married Nina Kathleen Grange June 15, 1942 in the Salt Lake Temple. LaVell was a pilot in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. LaVell and Nina had six children, Paula Falvo, Terrie Heichelbech (Bob), Gary Shiner (Stephani), Gaye Wynn (Brent), Anita Austin and Sandra Quist (Jim). He has 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. LaVell was the golf pro at Carbon County Country Club, loved to fly airplanes, dance, farm, and take his family fishing. He was on the BYU Basketball team and held the high school record for pole-vaulting for a number of years. He was a real estate agent and half owner of Century 21 Grimshaw Realty for many years. He was always upbeat and had great quick wit. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 16, 2007, 11 a.m. at Russon Brothers, 295 North Main, Bountiful, Utah, where the family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment will be at the Bountiful Cemetery.
