Only 3 schools in valley officially have teams

Only Utah Valley schools are represented in Utah's girls high school lacrosse league.

Orem and Timpview play in the more experienced Division I, while Lehi is trying its luck in Division II.

"Last year was our first year as a team at Lehi, so our season record was 0-10, which isn't a shock since nobody had ever played lacrosse before," Lehi coach Lindsey Hale said. "This year we are looking forward to playing together, this year we have a lot more athletecism and several strong players. Our offense will be much stronger this year than last."

Girls Division I

OREM: The Tigers will have a tough road to travel if they expect to challenge for the division crown. But coach Hanna Paige is on the right track with preseason wins over D-II teams Juan Diego and Copper Hills while also beating Skyline.

TIMPVIEW: Led by coaches Brianne Heschied and Erin Carlson, the Thunderbirds enter the season looking to improve on last year's effort. With a loss to Park City already against them, though, it looks like Timpview will have its work cut out for it, despite preseason wins over Lehi and Waterford.

Girls Division II

LEHI: Year One of the Lehi girls lacrosse team was painful last year. But despite not winning a game, the Pioneers think they learned enough from that experience to be a much better team this year. Ausia Lauts, Allyson Allred, Amanda Sager and Traci Paz are some of the top returners and give the Pioneers hope for 2007.
