OREM — A woman accused of throwing two knives at her husband was arrested for investigation of aggravated assault April 7 in Orem.
Police received a 911 call that a woman, 22, who had been drinking alcohol, was out of control, according to a police report.
The woman's husband told police the woman had thrown the knives at him, then locked herself in a bedroom. The woman began cursing at an officer who responded to the home at about 2 p.m. and tried to talk her into coming out of the room, the report said.
She finally opened the door but continued the verbal barrage, police said. Police noticed a 3-year-old child inside the room, according to the report.
With the door open, the officer grabbed her hand and wrestled her to the ground. She continued to fight, kick and curse at him, according to the report. -->
Once in handcuffs in the police car, the woman told police she and her husband had been arguing and she became so mad she picked up a knife and threw it at him as he ran away, according to the report.
Angry that she missed, she threw a second knife, and, still upset, she said she began launching cups, pots, pans and candles at her husband's car, damaging the front windshield, according to the police report.
Police also said the woman threatened her brother-in-law with a knife.
She was booked into the Utah County Jail for investigation of aggravated assault, assault on a police officer, domestic violence in the presence of a child, criminal mischief, threats against a person, resisting arrest and public intoxication on $5,000 cash or bond bail.
