Grace Bennett Despain "Our Loving Mother" 1912 ~ 2007 Our very special mother Grace Bennett Despain passed away peacefully April 20, 2007 at her home with her children by her side. She died of natural causes due to her age of 94. She was born July 4, 1912 to Caroline Harris and Thomas L. Jones. She had one brother, Thomas H. Jones, deceased; and one sister, Mable Thomas (Clarence) of Yuma, Arizona. She married William Linford Bennett in the Salt Lake Temple January 11, 1935 to this union three children were born, Gary Lynn Bennett (Susan), Marilyn Robison (Robbie) and Caroline Jane Hansen (Scott). Her husband preceded her in death February 21, 1970. Mother danced her way into S. Jay Despain's life and they were married for over 35 years. Jay was a real blessing in her life. They enjoyed traveling to Yuma in there motor home in the winter months and fishing in the summer months. Mom was famous for baiting her own fish hook with a pair of pliers and a worm always saying if I am going to fish I am baiting my own hook. She was a member of the LDS church who lived her religion to the fullest. She was always concerned about the other person, not herself. She taught her family to love and be kind. Her children were taught well by her example. She has a great posterity of 14 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at the Stratford Ward House, 1500 East Stratford Avenue (2506 South) where friends and family may visit from 9:30 - 10:45 a.m. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.Jenkins-Soffe.com The family would like to thank Veronica and Annibell through Heartwood Hospice for their extra care and concern for our mother.
