PROVO — A bomb threat forced the evacuation of a government building at 150 E. Center in Provo on Tuesday morning.
Just before 11 a.m., Adult Probation and Parole received a call from a male who said he was upset with the treatment from AP&P.
In addition to mentioning a bomb, the man threatened he was going to go to the building, said Provo Police Lt. Cliff Argyle.
A thorough search of the state building as well as a search of the nearby Historic Utah County Courthouse yielded nothing suspicious, Argyle said. The search was done with the help of a bomb-sniffing dog.
At least 100 people were evacuated from the building, including those trying to register or license their cars at the Division of Motor Vehicles, Argyle said.
The building was cleared by noon and the dog was sent through the parking lot to sniff for anything suspicious before people were let back into the building about 12:15 p.m.
