FARMINGTON — A plea bargain may be close to resolution in the case of a Davis School District educator charged with two felony counts of having sex with a minor.

Kathryn Louise Parmley, 48, a speech and language pathologist, is charged with two third-degree counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a 16- or 17-year-old. The charges state Parmley engaged in sexual activity with a 17-year-old boy several times between September 2005 and July 2006.

John Caine, defense attorney for Parmley, told 3rd District Judge Jon Memmott on Monday that talks are under way with Davis County Attorney Troy Rawlings, but there has been no final agreement as yet. However, Caine said he expects a disposition might be reached soon.

Parmley is on administrative leave from the school district and is out on bail. Her husband, Rich Parmley, is a Weber County prosecutor.
