The 19th Annual Celebration of Art and Soup takes place April 11 and 12 at the Wells Fargo Building, 23rd floor, 299 S. Main. This fund-raiser benefits Community Nursing Services Home Health and Hospice.

Diners can view or buy artwork from Utah artists while enjoying sample-size cups of soup from local restaurants and food purveyors. A celebrity judging panel gives awards for the best soups, and all patrons can vote for the people's choice categories.

Participating restaurants include Blue Boar Inn, Cafe Trio, Caffe Molise, Cookietree Bakery, Dodo Restaurant, Fiddler's Elbow, Grounds for Coffee, Pierre Country Bakery, Porcupine Grill, Red Rock Junction, Trofi Restaurant, Utah Food Services, Madeline's Steakhouse, Cakes de Fleur, Panache, Biaggi's, Olio's Restaurant, and Hopper's Seafood & Grill.

The soups are served from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and again from 5-9 p.m. both days. Admission is $15 for either lunch or dinner (cnsvna.org).

Red Rock Brewing Co. is celebrating 13 years in business. During April, all appetizers are half-off from 3-6 p.m. at the Salt Lake restaurant, 254 S. 200 West. The company has also created a 13th anniversary beer as part of its celebration (www.redrockbrewing.com).

Metropolitan, 173 W. 300 South, is hosting "A Tasteful Pursuit — Chefs on Tour for Hunger" gala dinner and auction April 28 to raise funds for Share Our Strength, an anti-hunger organization.

Metropolitan's culinary team — Jed Banta, Chris Durfee, Chad Horton and Justin Shifflett — will join Robert Barker of Bambara and touring chefs Michelle Bernstein of Michy's in South Beach, Fla., and Matt Gennuso of Chez Pascal in Providence, R.I., to create a multicourse feast.

The seated dinner begins at 6:30 p.m., with silent and live auctions taking place during the dinner. Jill Cordes of HDTV is master of ceremonies. Tickets are $150 (364-3472 or www.themetropolitan.com).

Pine, 4760 S. 900 East, will host a three-course menu on Easter Sunday, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., with a choice of entree and dessert. Cost is $24.95 per person and $11.95 for children 12 and under (288-2211 or www.pinerestaurant.com).
