Darrel D. Steadman "Lawn Mower Man" Our dear husband, dad, grandpa, stepdad, brother and friend, Darrel Delwine Steadman, age 77, passed away peacefully the morning of April 3, 2007. He was born November 16, 1929 at home in West Jordan, UT to Elmer and Lottie Parry Steadman, one of five children. Darrel served in the U.S. Army. He married Deanna Jensen Wignall Nov. 15, 1960. Deanna had five children, Darrel had three and between them, they had one. He worked for Utah Portland Cement for 32 years and then retired. He also worked for Intermountain Bicycle for two years. Darrel loved to work on small engines, mostly lawn mowers. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He bowled on the Sportmans League for 47 years. Survived by his wife, Deanna; children, Billie Jean Weatherspoon (David), Nancy Anderson (Mike), Karen Edwards (Robert); stepchildren, Debbie Delay (Phil), Sherry Edwards, Alan Wignall, Brian Wignall, Jim Wignall; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; sisters and brother, Aleen Smith, Norman (Donna), Colleen Graham (Ron). Preceded in death by a son, Darrel Jr.; daughter, Diane Steadman; parents; and a brother, Douglas. The family expresses sincere thanks to Dr. David Zackrison and his staff; as well as the staff at Jordan Valley Hospital Emergency Department. Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday, April 7, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. in the West Jordan City Cemetery, 7800 South 1300 West. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary 8090 So.
