Auditions

STAGERIGHT THEATER-COMPANY, 5001 S. Highland Drive, will hold auditions April 12, 7-9 p.m., for their staged musical reading of "R&H Are Alive!" a combination concert and revue featuring classic Broadway songs of Rodgers and Hammerstein.

Director Nancy Parker is looking for 4-6 women and 3-4 men. Come prepared to sing 16 bars of any Broadway song. An accompanist will be provided. Auditioners will also be asked to sing "cold" from a selection of Rodgers and Hammerstein.

Play dates are May 4-5 and 11-12. Since this will be performed in the format of a staged reading, singers will have scripts in their hands, but the show will flow like a revue. All positions at StageRight are voluntary.

THE ACADEMY OF PERFORMING ARTS, 3188 S. 400 East, April 11, 5-8 p.m., and April 14, 9-11 a.m., for its upcoming variety show, "A Night on the Town," directed by Pat Barnett and scheduled to play one night only on May 11.

Individuals and groups are welcome. Age range for performers is 5 and older. Depending on your choice of talent, come prepared to sing 16 bars of a musical theater-style song, a one-minute comedic monologue or a 1 1/2-minute dance routine.

Bring your own sheet music or accompaniment. An accompanist and stereo equipment will be available. A current photograph and resume are appreciated but not required (898-2728 or www.academyofpa.org).
