Ernest LaMont Blackham 1917 ~ 2007 Ernest LaMont Blackham, our loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away April 30, 2007 of natural causes surrounded by his family in Nephi, Utah. He was born in Moroni, Utah on January 11, 1917 to Ernest Theron and Lucy Draper. He married his beautiful wife, Olive Olsen in the Manti Temple on June 14, 1939. They enjoyed almost 68 years together before LaMont passed away. He was a devoted husband and father to his nine children. LaMont graduated from Moroni High School in 1935. He attended Utah State University. He started at the Moroni Feed Company as a mixer in 1944. From 1946 to 1978 he was the General Manager of the Moroni Processing Plant and from 1978-1985 he was President and General Manager of the Moroni Feed Company. He was on the Board of Utah Manufacturer's Association for eight years and served as President in 1973. He also served on the Board of Directors for the PEPA Association for 10 years and served as an Officer on the Board and as President. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints holding many ward and stake positions. He is survived by his wife, Olive, children: J. LaMont (Linda), Linda (Kirk) Brotherson, Oneil, Karen (Jim) Ramsay, Nora (Lynn) Cook, Tim (Cindy), Sue (Mark) Johansen, Bryant, (Nina) and sister Denice (Shirley) Madsen. He has 38 grandchildren and 64 great-grandchil-dren. He's preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth and his parents, two brothers Samuel Garnell (Esther), Oneil Draper, and sisters Vawn Guymon (John) and Ruth Blackham. He has been a great example to those around him, especially to his family. He has been a hard worker and will be dearly missed. LaMont's spirit will live on in his children and grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sat., May 5, 2007 in the Moroni LDS Stake Center at 11:00 a.m. with the viewing that morning from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Family and friends may visit Friday, May 4, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Moroni LDS Stake Center. Interment: Moroni City Cemetery.
