The Utah Museum of Fine Art's Advisory Board will host "Art in the Garden at Glennwood," this Friday evening. Individuals attending will stroll through the historic gardens of the Glennwood estate while enjoying an exhibition and sale of artwork by some of Utah's finest artists. There will also be a dinner, with signature dishes prepared by the chefs of Culinary Crafts, and the art auction will be conducted by Richard O'Keef. KUED will present a new series, "Simon Schama's Power of Art," Monday evening at 8, beginning with back-to-back episodes on Vincent van Gogh and Pablo Picasso. The BBC/WNET (New York) production tells the stories of eight artists and their cutting-edge masterpieces that ultimately changed the way the world looks at art. Other artists in the series include Caravaggio, Bernini, Rembrandt, David, Turner and Rothko. Following the debut, the series will run on Monday nights at 9 through July 30.
The 2007 Plein Air Fine Art Festival, featuring 75 of Utah's premiere painters and sculptors, will display their artwork Thursday and Friday in the Thanksgiving Point Gardens. Price for entering the Gardens is $8 for adults and $5 for children; the exhibit is free.
