The Fort Douglas Military Museum won a $10,000 grant from the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

The museum is seeking $6 million to preserve and restore two historic buildings, according to its Web site. The $10,000 grant will be used to evaluate the museum's current systems, prepare architectural drawings, develop a fund-raising plan and print materials.

The grant was distributed through the Utah Preservation Initiatives Fund.
