The Utah Environmental Congress invites area residents to participate in the Adopt-A-Waterbody program's cleanup of Little Cottonwood Creek at 11 a.m. Aug. 11.

"We'll have everything," said Corrine Piazza of the Utah Environmental Congress. "Basically, you just need to bring yourself."

Participants are invited to meet at the White Pine Parking Area (visit www.uec-utah.org for directions), where gloves, trash bags and assignments will be given out. Volunteers should plan on two hours for the project. Snacks, water and a free T-shirt will be given to all participants who sign up ahead of time by e-mailing at corrine@uecutah.org.

"It's an opportunity for people to tidy up the area," said Piazza. "It has high use from campers and fisherman and this helps to keep it clean for people who recreate there and the wildlife who call it home."
