Philip J. Clayton 1936 ~ 2007 Philip James Clayton passed away July 12, 2007 in Salt Lake City, Utah at the age of 70. He was born October 20, 1936 to Albert G. Clayton and Phyllis James Lambert Clayton. He graduated from East High School in 1954 and obtained his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Utah in 1961. He later received a Master of Science degree in Accounting. He completed a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the West Central States Mission and served twice in the U.S. Military. He married Margaret Hopkinson in the Salt Lake Temple September 1, 1965. He served as a Bishop's counselor in two bishoprics, High Priest Group Leader, and Elders Quorum President. Phil was a tax and small business consultant and operated his own business, Clayton and Associates. He was also a talented flutist and greatly enjoyed classical music. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; his son, Thomas; and his daughters, Cathy, Peggy, and Mary. He is also survived by his sister, Anne Petty (Steve); three grandsons; three granddaughters; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; and four sisters, Lucile Smith (Howard), Janell Hardy (Grant), Norrine Clayton, and Alberta Krantz (LaVar). A viewing will be held Tuesday, July 17, 2007 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 18, 2007, 12 noon, at the Bonneville Stake Center, 1535 East Bonneview Drive (1050 South). A viewing will also be held prior to services at the Stake Center Wednesday, 11:00 a.m. for family and friends. Interment at Salt Lake City Cemetery. Online condolence at www.larkinmortuary.com
