1970 ~ 2007
Early Sat. morning, August 18, 2007, our beloved Kristin of Layton, Utah passed away following a long struggle with Multiple Sclerosis.Kristin was born April 7, 1970 and is survived by her immediate family of husband David Clark Stewart; their children Timothy age 7, Alexander age 5, Nathaniel age 2, and twins Benjamin and their only daughter Rebekah who were born August 4, 2007. She is also survived by her parents Michael and Susan Beck of Bountiful, Utah; Brian
(Christina) Beck, Kerri (Kevin) Bement, Angie (Rusty) Thomas, her grandparents Joseph Worthy and LaRue Beck and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Thomas and LaRue Piggott.
Kristin graduated from Bountiful High School in 1988 after participating as a student officer, member of specialty choirs, winning speech awards and a member of the honor society. She completed a B.S. degree at BYU in three years. She later served as a popular elementary resource teacher in the Davis County School District until she was physically unable to work. In her youth, she was an outstanding pianist and always loved teaching and helping others. She was a strong swimmer and taught lessons for several years. She also enjoyed the completion of a marathon.
Throughout her life, Kristin was an active member of the LDS Church. While serving an American Sign Language mission in Fresno, California, she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and was able to complete her mission in Indiana. Over time, the disease robbed her of virtually all her physical capacity but it could not prevent the powerful light of her spiritual strength to shine on all who came close to her. Though in constant pain and discomfort, she inspired everyone around her with her cheerful and sweet disposition, not only as she courageously served others but also as others served her in her time of need. Even though she lived the last years of her life in a wheelchair, Kristin was a great mother for her children and a loyal and precious companion to her husband. Her children and family were the pride and joy of her life and brought her great satisfaction and joy.
Though she will be greatly missed by all who knew her, the permanent imprint on our souls of her wonderful smile and cheerful attitude will make each of us a better person. We express thanks to the dedicated friends, neighbors, ward members, and health caregivers for their tireless and dedicated service and assistance to Kristin and her family for many years.
