Seth Cody Fraughton

1989 ~2007

Seth Cody Fraughton, beloved Son of Cody and Charli Fraughton passed away Saturday, August 4, 2007 in a drowning accident at Cisco Beach at Bear Lake, Utah.Born September 21, 1989 at Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful Utah. Seth was surrounded at the time of his birth and his death by his family and close friends.

Seth grew up and lived in West Bountiful and Centerville Utah. He attended Centerville Elementary, Centerville Junior High, and Viewmont High School. He loved school as much as possible for a boy who loved being outside. Seth was mentored by dozens of outstanding teachers. His family is full of gratitude to each of them for teaching him to love learning and teaching him to discipline his mind. Thank you. Seth served as a Student Body Officer at Centerville Junior High. Seth achieved an outstanding GPA of 3.95 throughout Junior High and High School.

Seth expressed himself in many ways. He was known in his community as an outstanding football, basketball, and track athlete. Seth had the exceptional good fortune of being coached by outstanding men in the endeavor of gaining control of his physical self, and in learning to lead others. Seth stood 5'10" tall, weighed 185 lbs and had incredible strength and fortitude. Seth received numerous trophies, ribbons, accolades, and honors for his athleticism. He was Co-Captain of the Viewmont High School Football team. As a family we encourage the men who coached him to continue to touch the hearts and lives of boys and young men in our community.

Seth had a passion for every aspect of life. His smile and dimple could light up a room, and warm everyone's heart the instant you saw him. He had a contagious smile and personality. He was deeply loved by all who knew him. His hard work, dedication and passion were manifest in everything Seth did. He was confident, yet humble. He loved spending time at his family's farm hunting pheasants with his dog Millie, a good joke, Sunday dinners with his family, spending time with his friends and especially his girl, riding his horse Rio with his dog Cussy, playing football, reading, writing poetry and short stories, making people laugh, serving others, learning, and studying the scriptures. He had a deep love for his family. He was our Superman.

It is important for Seth's family to note that he was a seeker of truth. He was gently nurtured by many in learning of his true self and his relationship with Jesus Christ. He was a worthy and active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently serving as First Assistant in his Priest's quorum. We are forever grateful to every peer and every adult who inspired him to choose the better path. Thank you for the lessons taught, and thank you for the light. We are certain that what Seth received from each of you served him well in life and even now is serving as a great blessing to him in the eternities.

Our hearts deeply ache over losing Seth. We know he was loved by many, and we as his family are grateful to those who are willing to mourn with us. A special thanks to the sheriff's department and the search and rescue people for finding Seth's body and giving us the time we needed to be with our boy when our hearts were shattered. Our lives were blessed and our wounds started to heal because of your kindness. Thank you all. As a family we have lost much, yet we feel expanded.
