Myron Elmer Anderson

Myron Elmer Anderson passed peacefully from this life surrounded by his family on August 17, 2007. He was born April 17, 1920, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Joseph Elmer and Laura Arlene Trumbo Anderson. He served a mission in the Western States for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Upon his return he served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He married Merodean Petersen October 8, 1946, in the Salt Lake Temple. After 30 years of employment, he retired from Kennecott Copper in 1980. Myron was active in the LDS Church and patterned his life after the teachings of the Savior. He leaves a legacy of faith, integrity, and hard work. His hobby was gardening, and he enjoyed raising vegetable plants, which he freely shared with his neighbors.
He is survived by his wife Merodean of 61 years; sons Glen (Sue) Anderson, Willard, Utah; Dean (Cheryl) Anderson, West Valley City, Utah; Mark Anderson, Salt Lake City, Utah; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and one sister, LaPriel Wignell. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Clora Rudolph.
The family will receive friends August 22 between 6-8 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 S. Highland Dr., Salt Lake City and Thursday prior to the funeral from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the Ridgedale Ward Building. Services will be held at the Ridgedale Ward, 3400 S. 100 E. on Thursday, August 23 at 12:00 noon.
