Barbara Lorraine Carsey Nielson, 77, our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, passed away with her family near on August 18, 2007.She was born February 25, 1930, to Herbert George and Etta May Newbold Carsey. Born and raised in Magna, her heart always remained in Magna even though she moved to Salt Lake City. Graduated from Cyprus High School in 1947 where she was president of the Cyprus Girls Association. She married Max Edwin Nielson, October 5, 1950, later
divorced.
She worked many years as an on air personality on the Herb Jepko Nitecap radio show where she showcased the gift of gab she possessed. She always made everyone feel important and needed. She worked at many receptionist positions where she made countless friends. She always gave to others, seldom thinking of herself. She was a member of the LDS Church where she served in many Primary and cub scout callings. She was an honorary member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Assn., and had a great talent and love for her ceramics. She loved to teach others to do ceramics at her shop and at the Magna Seniors Center. She had a great love for her family and was very proud of her two boys and her grandchildren. She was always happy and had a great sense of humor, which she kept until the very end.
Survived by her two sons, Todd (Mona) and Jac (Carrie); grandchildren, Jessica (John), Jeff (Holly), Brad (Michelle), Mallory, Mary, Nik, Jakob, and Rachel; great grandchildren, Kynzie and Jaxon; brother, Jac (Joyce) Carsey.
Preceded in death by parents; three sisters; two brothers; and good friend, Darrell Stevens.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, August 23, 2007 at the Hunter 9th Ward, 3450 So. 6400 W. Friends and family may call Wednesday 6-8 p.m. at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W. 2700 So., and Thursday 10-10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment: Pleasant Green Cemetery.
