John M. West
1929 ~ 2007
John Marcus West, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend died peacefully in the arms of his soul mate on August 8, 2007. He died as a result of a cerebral hemorrhage.John was born to George and Viola Yowell West, December 7, 1929. Upon graduation from East High School in 1948, he then continued working with his father and brother in the family business, Utah Dental Lab. He served in the Korean conflict from 1950-1954. Married Dona Miller, September 1951. John was CEO and owner of Utah Dental Lab, where he worked as a master dental technician until December 2005 when he retired.
John was artistic and gifted in many different ways. He loved to fish, hunt, ride horses in the mountains, and work his cattle at Westland Ranch in Center Creek with his son Chad. He was an excellent fly fisherman and cherished any day he could spend in the out of doors. He was a man of courage and conviction. His word was his bond.
Survived by his beloved wife Dona, children Marc (Kayelynn) West, Lisa (Rob) Messer and Chad West, seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and a sister, Barbara Millier, CA. Preceded in death by his parents and brother.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Care Source for the love and attention given to John and his family.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday August 11, at 11 a.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. 10600 S. Friends may call Fri. evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Mortuary and one hour prior to the services on Sat.
