$105,000 buys a lot of shoes

Give me a break — $105,000 for a tour of the county? State legislators should be ashamed. The same thing could have been accomplished with a leisurely Sunday afternoon drive and an ice cream cone on the way home. How many shoes for needy children, school supplies that underpaid teachers buy themselves and help for the homeless could have been purchased with this money?

I hope the legislators included a tour of the poorest parts of town. That's where $105,000 would have made a real difference.
