PROVO — A man who allegedly stalked and threatened a former girlfriend with incineration has been booked into the Utah County Jail.

A woman contacted Provo police Saturday to report that a past boyfriend was waiting outside her work to see her.

She told the officer she had broken off the relationship several months ago, but the 38-year-old man wouldn't leave her alone, according to an affidavit of probable cause filed in 4th District Court.

She said the man tried calling and visiting her, hinting that he would kill himself if she doesn't answer the phone or respond to his messages.

He also implied in those messages that he would kill her and incinerate her body in a grade school furnace, according to the affidavit.

The man was arrested after individuals at the Elks lodge in Provo called police to say the man was hanging out by the front doors.

The man had been asked not to come back two weeks ago, based on an incident with the woman in the parking lot, according to the report.

He was arrested for investigation of stalking, trespassing and possession of a controlled substance.
