NASCAR fans will have a chance this week and next to view a replica of the No. 6 Ford Fusion race car driven by David Ragan and also drive a race car in a virtual racing simulator.
AAA is hosting an event called the AAA NASCAR Motorsports Experience in five Utah cities. The event is designed to bring awareness of AAA but also showcase the No. 6 car, which AAA sponsors. Children will be able to participate in a small safety course and navigate a remote-controlled car through simulated traffic safety hazards.
"Not every NASCAR fan gets a chance to attend a race," said Rolayne Fairclough, spokeswoman for AAA of Utah. "This is a way to bring the NASCAR racing experience to everyone. The simulator is a lot of fun and really gives a feel of what it's like to drive a race car."

Wednesday, 4 to 7 p.m.: Ogden AAA office, 5705 S. Harrison Blvd., Ogden.
Friday, 3 to 7 p.m.: Draper AAA office, 185 E. 12300 South, Suite 100, Draper.
