The names of two women killed in a weekend accident near Meadow, Millard County, have been released.
Jennifer Grover, 30, of Newport, Ore., was killed in a chain reaction accident involving 14 vehicles, including four semitrailer trucks.
Chariti Holloway, 34, of Salt Lake City, was also killed. She was the passenger in a car that was hit by a semitrailer truck. The woman, originally from Shamrock, Texas, died on impact, said Utah Highway Patrol spokesman Preston Raban.
High winds kicked up dust and ash left over from this summer's huge Milford Flat Fire at about 4 p.m. Saturday, obstructing the view of drivers near Meadow.
At least three other drivers were transported to area hospitals in critical condition.
The accident caused I-15 to be closed in both directions for 10 hours, Raban said.
The original fire in July was responsible for two similar deaths along I-15 when thick smoke created near zero visibility. A California couple on a motorcycle heading south were struck by a vehicle whose driver apparently didn't see them.
