A Salt Lake City man is facing some hefty federal prison time for taking more than $37,000 from a local bank where he was employed as a teller, according to charges filed in federal court.

Todd Rutner, 22, was indicted by a federal grand jury Wednesday on 13 counts of theft, embezzlement, or misapplication by a bank employee.

According to the indictment, Rutner, who was employed by U.S. Bank as a teller and vault teller, took at least $37,000 in funds from a bank vault within a one-month period during September 2005.

According to federal prosecutors, if convicted Rutner faces a maximum of 30 years in federal prison.
