Utah's hotels saw their July occupancy rates and average daily room rates rise, compared with figures from a year earlier.
According to the Rocky Mountain Lodging Report, released Tuesday, the occupancy rate in July was 75.6 percent, up from 73.2 percent a year earlier. The average rate was $89.15, up from $80.70.
The highest occupancy rate this year so far was 78.5 percent in June. The lowest was 63.7 percent in April. The average daily rate statewide has ranged from $85.67 in May to $110.97 in January.

The occupancy rate in July for Salt Lake City establishments was 77.1 percent, up from 71.8 percent a year earlier but down from 82.9 percent in June. The daily rate was $89.76, up from $80.30 in July 2006 and down from $95.30 in June.
