A West Valley City man was charged in 3rd District Court Tuesday with four counts of sexual abuse of a child.

The charges were filed in the abuse of a 15-year-old girl, according to court documents obtained Tuesday. Allegedly, the 43-year-old man told the girl he would kill her younger brother if she told her mother about the abuse.

The man has previously been convicted of child abuse, according to the documents. In May of this year, he was found guilty of third-degree felony sexual abuse of a child. His name and photograph have been posted on the Utah Sex Offender Registry Web site.
