WEST VALLEY CITY — A man in his 20s was shot and killed by police outside a 7-Eleven this morning.

At about 10 a.m., West Valley police were checking a suspicious vehicle with California plates parked for several hours in a handicapped spot in front of the store near 3500 South and 4800 West.

The man in the driver's seat was "not too responsive" to officers' questions, and then "a weapon was produced," said West Valley Police Capt. Steve Sandquist.
