Ernest B. Rees

1925 ~ 2007

Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Ernest Breeze Rees, passed away August 19, 2007 in West Valley City, Utah.

He was born December 15, 1925 in Salt Lake City to Ernest B. Sr. and Jessie Mitchell Rees. He married

Lorna Caldwell July 28, 1949 in Salt Lake City.

Serving in the US Army Air Corp during World War II, Ernie was stationed in France and enjoyed speaking French all of his life. He graduated from East High School and received a BA from the U of U. He worked in retail sales and retired as an insurance agent. Ernie was a life long member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He enjoyed tennis, was a member of the Sports Mall, was an accomplished golfer, and loved to dance. Along with his wife, Ernie was a member and toured for many years with the Salt Lake Symphonic Choir. He was active with the Senior Citizens Center, taught harmonica classes there, and helped establish the senior choir. He was a wonderful father and grandfather and had a great passion for his grandchildren.

Survived by his wife, Lorna; sons, Michael Dean (Eva) and Shawn Rees; grandchildren, Graham, Colin

(Rachel), Amy, Morgan, Jerri, and Don; great-grandchildren, Isaac, Kayde, and Grace; and sister, Jessie Springborn. Preceded in death by parents and a brother, E.D. Flemming.

Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, August 23, 2007 at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 4290 South 5415 West, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Private interment. Online condolences: www.peelfuneralhome.com
