Mary-Anne Fox

1931 ~ 2007

Mary-Anne (Foster) Fox, of Salt Lake City, Utah, died in Heath, Texas on August 4, 2007 after facing many months of a rare thyroid disorder, eventually identitied as Hashimoto's Encephalopathy and liver cancer.

She was born on September 21, 1931 to Margaret L. McKay and J. Leonard Foster in Battle Creek, Michigan. Mary-Anne was an avid reader from the time she was young. When she wasn't reading, she was creating something - embroidery, needlework, crafts, and painting. She lived her philosophy - women should be free to pursue their ideas and dreams, everyone should be free to make their own decisions, and all of life is a journey of learning! As a member of the Girl Scouts of America, American Association of University Women, The Embroiders Guild, and Christ United Methodist Church, she shared her talents and philosophies.

Mary-Anne graduated from Michigan State in 1953, where she met Sherman Dale Fox. She had a beautiful life with Sherm and says she had no regrets...only happy memories. They have three daughters of whom they are very proud: Martha Kaye Fox, husband William Deal; Dana Louise, husband David Gilliland; and Sarah Lani, husband Donald Hancock. She is also survived by five grandchildren Megan and Ian Gilliland; and Charlotte, Catherine and Marian Hancock.
