Herbert Trader

1936 ~ 2007

St. George, UT- Herbert C. Trader, age 70, died at his home August 21, 2007, after a three year battle with cancer.

He was born December 15, 1936 in Cortez, CO. He married Gloria Eyre on April 8, 1961 in Sandy, UT. They were later sealed in the Los Angeles LDS Temple.

After meeting the love of his life, Gloria, they set out together to raise a family in Southern California. Herb worked as an adjunct professor of statistics and as a quality control engineer in the aerospace industry. He made significant contributions to programs including the B-1 Bomber, Space Shuttle, and Hellfire missile system. Always an avid outdoors man, Herb enjoyed fishing and camping with his family. Herb saw travel as an opportunity to share rich cultural experiences with his family and insisted on annual family vacations. He shared hobbies and talents with others through woodworking, genealogy, gemology, and other artistic expressions. Herb was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He is survived by his wife Gloria and children Jeff (Suzanne), Carla Gray (Lynn), Todd (Corena), Curtis (Michelle), and Greg (Hannah). He was preceded in death by William F. Trader (Father), Frances R. Jones (mother), Sheri (daughter) and Brian (son).

The viewing will be held on Thurs. August 23, 6-8 p.m., Metcalf Mortuary, 288 W. St. George Blvd., St. George. 435-673-4221. Funeral services will be Friday, Aug., 24, 11 a.m. with a viewing from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services at the Morningside 1st Chapel, 930 S. Morningside Dr. (720 E.), St. George, UT.
