Sally Herron Moon

1933 ~ 2007

Sarah Darlene Herron Moon, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2007 after a brief, courageous fight with cancer.She was born April 13, 1933 in Tooele, Utah to Elmer W. and

Margaret Alice Bates Herron, the 9th child of 10 and the youngest daughter. She attended Tooele High School and three years of Brigham Young University. Sally married the light of her life Floyd Moon on Sept. 3, 1954 in the Salt Lake Temple and has enjoyed nearly 53 wonderful years of marriage.

The gospel of Jesus Christ has been the center of her life. She enjoyed many years of church service in numerous ward and stake positions including Primary, Cub Scouts, and Relief Society. She also loved working with the children and staff at Pied Piper Preschool for 19 years as a teacher and later as a cook.

Family has always been a big part of her joy and happiness. She always enjoyed family vacations, reunions, and all family gatherings and celebrations. She liked to read, paint, travel and watch sports -especially BYU vs. Utah.

Survived by her husband, Floyd, siblings Blanche Berry, Evelyn Dreitzler (John), Richard Herron (Carolyn), and Ned Herron (Mary); sons, Steve, Keith (Sherlyn), Wayne (Deborah), Kevin (MaryAnn), Bill (Laraine), Indian placement son

She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings Elaine, Margaret, Alexander, George, and Kenneth.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 25, 2007, 11 a.m. at the Imperial 1st Ward house, 2738 So. Filmore St (1450 East). Viewings will be held Friday, August 24, from 6-8 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Dr., SLC, and prior to the services at the church from 9:45-10:45 a.m.
