Larry Lee Coxey

South Ogden

Larry Lee Coxey passed away Aug. 20, 2007 of causes related to heart disease.He was born August 25, 1943, in Ogden, Utah to Margaret L. Dieu and LeRoy Coxey, who later divorced. Larry was raised in Ogden by his mother and stepfather, Ellis L. Evans. He graduated from Ogden High (1961.) and Weber State Collage (1969) with BA in Geology.

He married Sirkka-Liisa Forss in the LDS Logan Temple. At the time of his death he had two children and three grandchildren.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he held many positions and served a mission in Finland.

Larry worked at many jobs, including working for UDOT in the materials lab and as a Northern Region Geologist (65-70) and then for the Alaska DOT as a field geologist, Highway Designer, and Project engineer working out of Valdez and Nome.

He is survived by his wife, Sirkka, and children, Nina-Leena (Shane) Morgan, Ogden; and Russell

(Stephanie) Coxey, Nome, AK; three grandchildren in Ogden; Uncle Douglas Dieu, Ogden; two sisters-Kathleen (Brad) Killian, Annette (Tom) Evans-McPartland, two brothers-Michael (Myra) Evans,

The family extends thanks to the staff of Ogden Regional ICU and Promise L.T.A.C. in Salt Lake.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 24, 2007 at Leavitt's Mortuary, 836 36th Street in Ogden. Family and friends may call Thursday, August 23 from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the services at the mortuary. Online condolences may be
