General Motors Corp., the largest U.S. automaker, would like to share more parts with its competitors to improve quality and save money, Bo Andersson, the company's purchasing chief, said Thursday.

Chief buyers for Toyota Motor Corp., Ford Motor Co. Chrysler LLC and Honda Motor Co. said at a conference in Novi, Mich., Thursday that they are interested in sharing parts as well.
