An Amber Alert has been issued by the Morgan County Sheriff's Office for residents and motorists to be on the lookout for a 5-year-old girl.

Jasmine Monique Spens was reportedly taken by force by her birth mother just after 11 a.m. near 4202 Daisy Drive in Morgan County.

The girl's mother is Julia Jasmine Wheelwright but does not have custody, according to authorities. The Morgan County Sheriff's Office said Wheelwright and her boyfriend, Donald Lee Waters, beat up Spens' grandmother, who has full custody, and took the girl.

They were last seen driving a four-door 1990 tan and gray Ford with a temporary sticker. Police believe the car may be headed for Idaho, but the couple also has connections in Texas, according to police.
