Cause for Hope, a Utah-based organization creating self-reliance in Central America, will hold its first summer social Aug. 31 at Franklin Covey Field. The event, which includes a Salt Lake Bees game and a barbecue, will raise money to help families in Honduras, Nicaragua and El Salvador.
Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the Cause for Hope table outside the stadium's home plate entrance. The social will take place in the first base lower bowl section.
Cause for Hope develops income and job creation opportunities, including micro-credit loans, and provides educational and vocational training resources in Central American countries where other welfare and humanitarian efforts are limited, according to chairman Dan Gifford. Cause for Hope has helped hundreds of families achieve self-reliance, he says.
