Let me see if I understand this correctly. Sen. Patricia Jones, D-Holladay, is honestly comparing the possible east-side/west-side district splits to the American Revolution? Seriously? She is comparing the right to start our own country and govern ourselves to splitting a school district and leaving the west side in the lurch?

Wow, I have now officially heard it all. If there is any doubt as to whether or not the east side wants anything to do with the west side, I think we have it.

To deny those of us on the west side a chance to vote on something that will obviously affect us is paramount to highway robbery, let alone possibly unconstitutional.

However, I think I might have an answer. Let's simply dissolve Granite and Jordan school districts! West-siders, we should demand new school districts as well! Then we can get on the November ballot, vote to keep the districts together and beat the east side at their own silly game. Because, to be honest, the only reason they do not want us to vote is because if we vote, they lose.

I believe we should keep the districts together; deep down, in the long run, we know it is better for everyone on both sides of the valley.
