A federal jury trial next week has been put off for a Salt Lake filmmaker accused of transporting a minor across state lines for the purpose of having sex.

Court information shows a jury trial scheduled for Monday has been substituted for a plea and sentencing hearing on Sept. 20.

Gilbert Medina, 38, is accused in federal charging documents of taking a minor on a trip to Los Angeles for the purpose of having sex with her. Court documents indicate Medina may have videotaped portions of his activities with the girl both in California and at his downtown Salt Lake condominium.
